Therapist | Trauma-Informed Care Specialist
My name is Deannie Rodriguez. I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker providing relational, trauma-informed virtual therapy in Texas. My work is rooted in helping clients move beyond survival mode and toward a life that feels more grounded, aware, connected, and whole.
Growing up as a first-generation Caribbean-American, I witnessed the strength it can take to navigate life while carrying unspoken burdens. That experience continues to shape how I show up as a therapist: culturally responsive, nonjudgmental, and deeply committed to creating a space where clients can exhale, feel seen, and explore the parts of themselves they may have learned to silence, protect, or push aside.
I believe healing is about more than managing symptoms. It is also about becoming curious about what is underneath them—the experiences, wounds, beliefs, protective patterns, and nervous system responses that may have developed along the way.
My work invites you to slow down, reconnect with your body, and begin understanding yourself with greater compassion. We are not simply asking, “How do I make this feeling go away?” We are also making space to ask, “What is this telling me, where might it come from, and what do I need now?”
My practice is collaborative, integrative, and rooted in root-cause therapy. Rather than focusing only on what is showing up on the surface, I help clients explore the experiences, wounds, patterns, and protective responses that may be underneath what they are experiencing today.
I use a body-based and decolonized lens, recognizing that trauma and chronic stress can affect not only the mind, but also the body and nervous system. Therapy with me is a space where you do not have to keep everything together. You can arrive exhausted, uncertain, guarded, overwhelmed, or simply tired of carrying so much and be met with warmth, curiosity, and cultural humility.
My approach integrates Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems-informed work, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed care. Through somatic and body-based work, we can become more aware of what your body may be communicating and support greater capacity for regulation and connection.
Through parts work, we may also become curious about the inner critic, protector parts, perfectionistic parts, or other parts of you that learned how to function in survival mode. Instead of fighting those parts, we can begin understanding what they have been trying to do for you and explore what they may need now.
My goal is to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and begin living with greater ease and self-trust. Healing is not about forcing yourself to become someone different. It is about developing the awareness and compassion to listen to yourself differently.
Together, we work toward greater emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, self-compassion, and a deeper connection to your authentic self. The goal is not to erase every difficult emotion or experience, but to help you feel more present and grounded in your life rather than constantly operating from survival.
I believe there is value in understanding not only what you are experiencing, but also the story underneath it—what your mind and body learned, what you have carried, and what may finally be ready to soften.
You do not have to navigate survival mode alone. There can be space for both the parts of you that learned how to survive and the parts of you that are ready to experience life differently. TRAUMA PROFESSIONAL
I am especially passionate about supporting people who may appear to be holding everything together on the outside while internally feeling exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to slow down.
Our work creates room to explore what may be underneath the pressure to keep going, performing, achieving, or caring for everyone else. Together, we can begin building a life that feels more aligned, peaceful, and connected to who you truly are.
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
My work is shaped by my identity, lived experience, and commitment to creating affirming spaces where clients from diverse backgrounds can feel safe, respected, and understood. I value therapy that feels human, culturally responsive, and connected to the whole person—mind, body, story, relationships, identity, and lived experience.
If you are ready to slow down, explore what may be underneath the surface, and reconnect with your authentic self, I would be honored to support you. — Deannie
