Marselis, LMSW

Therapist | Trauma-Informed Care Specialist

I am Marselis Nelson, LMSW, a Licensed Master of Social Worker. As a proud father of four children and a combat veteran who has served in both the United States Marine Corps and the Army, I bring a grounded, culturally attuned perspective to my work. I am especially passionate about supporting young adolescents, young adults, middle aged adults, and the first responders, military service members, and veterans’ communities. I also work with couples, helping partners deepen their connection, improve communication, and navigate challenges together with compassion and clarity.

My passion to become a therapist was birthed out of the ashes working through my own struggles with spicy memories from my time spent in Iraq, and the understanding of how past childhood trauma, once affected how I navigated life as a man and father. I believe that there are seeds of good planted in every bad experience of life. Oftentimes, these traumatic pain points in life keep us from growing, thus requiring a pruning season to take effect, so that you can begin to heal in an organic manner.

Together, we will work to make beauty out of ashes, cultivating peace within yourself, building resilience to life’s challenges, and helping you find your purpose and meaning of life. Let’s work together towards helping you reinvent yourself as we put the mosaic pieces of your life together in a manner that you feel fulfilling.

Marselis Therapy Style

I am a compassionate and experienced therapist specializing in trauma-informed care, with advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My clinical approach is integrative, weaving in Internal Family Systems (IFS)—with a focus on parts work—and somatic therapy techniques to help clients access deeper emotional mind and body connection for holistic healing.

I believe in a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, collaboration, and trust. I ask that my clients be authentic in who they are, so that I can meet them where they’re at. My goal is to help clients build resilience, process trauma safely, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
